Transport solution

Logging transport in forests and on the road with the same efficiency

Logging Renault Trucks in Cameroon

Logging is one of the most demanding applications for a truck and it is necessary to have a vehicle that is both at ease on the rough terrain of the forest and efficient on road. The Renault Trucks K and its services meet this dual objective of robustness and efficiency. We can help you choose the best options suited to your timber transport activity.

Choose a robust logging truck for better performance and safety

Loading logs in the forest and transporting them is an operation that takes place in severe conditions. The loading area is often difficult to access, via narrow roads or paths in poor condition. The loads transported are heavy and bulky. The robustness and reliability of your transport solutions are essential for your business.

The Renault Trucks K XTREM 6x4 tractor has been developed following a series of performance and endurance tests with our customers in Cameroon. Based on our expertise and experience, the logging truck model has been designed to withstand the most severe operating conditions. The whole vehicle has been reinforced and optimized for even greater robustness and reliability.

The driver’s position in the cab is ideal to ensure excellent visibility around the vehicle. There are also several driving aids available, such as a manual accelerator which can be very useful to avoid jolting when driving on bumpy terrain. For steep roads, which drivers may need to negotiate with a full load, the Optibrake engine brake is the best on the market and will be of great use. It will boost efficiency and safety for both the truck’s load and your drivers.

Crane placing loggs on a trailer

The rear axle’s loading capacity can go up to 32 tonnes, so you can install the crane you require and chassis is ready to be fitted with platform-crane equipment. It has all the necessary connections for controlling the crane (switches and screen display), crane support plates (from 20 to 40 tonnes/metre) and has several free spaces for installing the stands.

Reduce your maintenance costs

Operating conditions in the logging industry are particularly demanding for vehicles, especially when it comes to braking and suspension components. The quality of Renault Trucks genuine parts ensures performance and longevity. This means that your work tool is available more of the time.

In parallel, to anticipate maintenance and possible downtime of your vehicles, Renault Trucks offers you customized maintenance plans (PMS) perfectly adapted to the logging industry. Your budget is planned, controlled, and spread over the duration of the chosen contract. At the same time, you keep your vehicles longer thanks to regular maintenance in the Renault Trucks network.

Optimization of use and fleet management for timber transport

To take things further, you can also use the Optifleet fleet management tool. You can then monitor detailed data on the daily consumption of your trucks and the use made of them by your drivers: anticipation in driving, use of the power take-off, retarders, etc. You can also plan routes for your vehicles and choose the routes where they consume the least. In the event of unforeseen circumstances or a change in assignment, the connected solution allows you to locate your drivers directly, access their driving data and contact them to reassign them to a new assignment.

Finance your logging trucks in line with timber transport constraints

Your contract manager is there to support you through financing and insurance stages. As a professional within the sector, they are aware of the many constraints linked to logging transport, and can adapt your contract’s clauses based on your activity and needs. They can for instance spread out vehicle financing according to the time it takes to build the bodywork, or can base the contract’s duration on time rather than mileage - as the latter is generally fairly low and not particularly representative for logging trucks. All these solutions will help preserve your borrowing capacity and cash flow.
